Physician Bio:

Dr. Funderburk has extensive experience in the management of diseases of the retina and vitreous, including two of the most common causes of blindness: diabetic eye disease and Age Related Macular Degeneration. He has been involved extensively in clinical research during his career.

Dr. Funderburk was Chief of the Department of Ophthalmology at Erlanger Medical Center from 1988 to 1989 before becoming an assistant professor at the University of Tennessee College of Medicine in Chattanooga in 2004. In 2013 he formed The Retina Center, a facility uniquely designed to administer care to patients suffering from retinal disease.
