Physician Bio:

Dr. Haggerty is a board-certified ophthalmologist and fellowship-trained in oculoplastics surgery.

Dr. Haggerty completed his undergraduate degree in mechanical engineering at Virginia Tech and graduated with summa cum laude accolades. He received his medical degree from West Virginia University School of Medicine, where he served as student chairman on the West Virginia UniversitySchool of Medicine Student Academic Advisory Committee. After medical school, Dr. Haggerty completed his internship in general medicine at West Virginia University followed by a residency in ophthalmology at the University of South Carolina. He then obtained a dual fellowship in oculoplastic surgery and neuro-ophthalmology at Allegheny General Hospital in Pittsburgh, PA in 2004. Following the dual fellowship, he completed a two-year sub-specialty training in oculoplastic surgery in the highly sought after and competitive American Society of Ophthalmic Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery (ASOPRS) fellowship program at Duke University. Prior to joining our SEES team of physicians, he practiced in upstate South Carolina where he started his career in 2006. Dr. Haggerty specializes in a variety of eyelid, orbital and nasolacrimal gland surgery; eyelid, periorbital and lesion abnormalities; and orbital tumors. He also has expertise in non-surgical treatments (such as Botox) for cosmetic and functional issues.
